The R.O.T.C. students held a fundraiser helping out with the concession stand at the 11th annual Citrus County Tractor Pull. The fundraiser took place on the weekend of Jan. 29- 31.
The students served food to the Tractor Pull spectators at the Citrus County Fairgrounds.
“I had a lot of fun hanging out with the other R.O.T.C. kids,” Erler said.
It wasn’t all fun and games. The students were busy helping to get food and beveradges ready for customers.
“I enjoyed giving back to the community,” Poteete said. “It felt good helping out others.”
The students who participated in helping at the concession stand earned community service hours for scholarships and R.O.T.C. corps.
“I’m glad I got community service hours,” Poteete said. “It was even better knowing I earned them while having fun.”
According to the Citrus County Tractor Pull website, the concession stand opened up at 8 a.m. and remained open until all of the pulls were complete.
“It took a while,” Erler said. “But it was worth it to help out and get hours.”
