Book Review: The Last Song

Written by: Alison Schriro Book Review: The Last Song thumbnail
Author Nicholas Sparks has won over many fans with his his bestselling novels The Notebook and A Walk To Remember. His newest book, The Last Song, is sure to follow that trend.

Ronnie, short for Veronica, is your typical rebellious teenager. She lives with her mom, Kim, and little brother, Jonah, in New York City. She hasn’t spoken to her father, Steve, in three years, since he left them and moved to South Carolina. Now, she is forced to spend the summer after her senior year in the worst way she can think of: with her father.

While she remains true to her stubborn ways, Ronnie begins to soften up and enjoy herself a little more when she meets Will, a local boy whose first impression is made when he spills soda all over Ronnie’s shirt.

Throughout the summer, she finds new love with Will, rediscovers her love of her father, and strengthens the love she has within herself.

The Last Song is now being adapted into a movie, starring Miley Cyrus. The movie will hit theaters on April 2, 2010.
